Founded in 2003, Turn-Key Solutions (TKS) has become a leading systems integrator specializing in robotic automation. Scott Etzel, who assumed full ownership six years ago, has led the company through a period of rapid growth, expanding operations to the United States, Mexico, Brazil and Germany, with an impressive annual growth rate of 25%. TKS provides a comprehensive 360-degree service to its customers, fostering long-term relationships based on trust and reliability.
Turn-Key Solutions’ approach allows them to manage mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, robot programming, HMI, machining, painting, welding and assembly in-house. This comprehensive service offering has set them apart in a highly competitive industry.
Application Challenges
One of TKS’s most recent projects involved designing an automated storage and retrieval system for a customer .
The application required two robots to process parts , and the need to move products vertically up to 30 feet (9 m) and horizontally over 60 feet (18 m) through long , highly dynamic strokes in continuous operation. Additionally, the system had to handle loads of up to 136 kg .
The project required not only reliable equipment that could withstand such a demanding process, but also 1.5 mm accuracy and high speed.
Faced with this challenge, Turn-Key Solutions had to decide whether to build a custom solution in-house or purchase an existing product that met the application needs. After carefully evaluating the options, TKS recognized the complexity of the task and the need for a reliable, high-performance actuator.
